My particular interest has been exploring the ancient technique of iconography painting. After three decades I have found that simplicity is often the best way to reach the depths of our soul. Our ancestral memory is imprinted with the sacred feminine. My writing focuses both on the visual representation of women in iconography and the question of equality in discipleship for everyone. My journey has been a search to reconstruct the meaning of the role of women in Christianity, not only in light of the traditional social role assigned to them by society. Contemplative Women are devoted followers, community leaders, preachers, saints, and mystics in the immediate context of historical epochs.
Iconography is a spiritual practice and discipline that engages the idea of using art and meditation to express a spiritual language. I have come to be especially focused on the women in iconography, women’s spirituality and their unheard voices to voice their wisdom and love.
